Varsity Jacket

This jacket was inspired by a quintessentially 80s show/doll from my childhood, Maxie. I’d say this jacket falls into what they’re calling “dopamine dressing” these days; to wear it is pure happiness.

I did run into some issues, though – it was my first time working with a separating zipper (and finishing a jacket, in general), and you can see in one of the pictures that the top does not quite align.

I used the Burda 115 Blouson Jacket pattern, lengthening the sleeves a bit, a hot pink Heavyweight Wool Cavalry Twill for the body, a flowy white twill for the sleeves (which is a bit too lightweight for the coat, if I’m honest), Bemberg lining, and turquoise striped ribbing.
